Joe Edwards – Consultant

I’m a great believer in the power of coaching and I am constantly amazed at the transformations I see in people. As well as coaching individuals, I love ‘spreading the word’ and regularly facilitate workshops for managers to help them learn how to use a coaching style at work.

I enjoy working with employee engagement surveys and get satisfaction from helping organisations work out how to address the themes that arise from these. Above all, I appreciate working with enthusiastic people who are keen to learn! I’m a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and I hold an ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring, a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Organizational Psychology, for which I undertook a piece of research investigating the value of implementing a culture of coaching within a public sector organisation. This was published in the Journal of Social Sciences Research and the International Journal of Society Systems Science. I’m also accredited to administer TMP’s Team Management Profile, a tool which I consider to deliver incredibly valuable insights to both teams and individuals.

Away from work you can normally find me playing 5-a-side football to a very questionable standard, down the front (or these days, in the seats) at a good gig, making a noise on my guitar and remaining silent with a good book. I run regularly and participate in the odd 10k, and despite what people say, it is important to beat your friends! I’m also learning Spanish – check back in a few years to see how that’s gone!
