I am an experienced and engaging Occupational Psychologist, having switched from a career in retail 11 years ago.
My passion is for enabling people to enjoy the challenges of work, and helping to create productive and enjoyable working environments. I get a real buzz out of helping leaders develop better ways to achieve great outcomes through empowering and engaging others, and genuinely believe that people are at their most productive and creative when they are able to play to their strengths, free from the fear that sometimes paralyses otherwise highly capable people at work.
I spent 10 years working in a fast paced retail environment after University, which was where my interest in occupational psychology began. After being made redundant in 2005, I retrained as an Occupational psychologist, and worked for a consultancy in Cambridge which gave me a wide range of experience in areas of Organisational Development, Pay and Reward, Assessment and Leadership Development.
In my spare time I enjoy combining my passion for hiking and photography, and am also a keen golfer. Unfortunately my knowledge of Psychology has not been sufficient to overcome my various golfing frailties. I am also a father to two brilliant daughters, but am resisting the temptation to pass on any knowledge of Psychology just yet for fear that they will simply use it against me.
