The lockdown has undoubtedly had a huge impact in the executive coaching world, but given the uncertain times it is likely that coaching and coaching skills will be needed more than ever over the coming months! Here at Azure, we wanted to enable our accredited coaches to keep up with their development and do our bit to keep the coaching world healthy and thriving.
Last week, a group of coaches joined us on an interactive coaching CPD webinar, called ‘Using Positive Psychology in Coaching’. As well as learning about the value of a positive psychology based approach (an area of psychology supported by an ever-growing body of research), participants of the webinar were able to see live demonstration of a tool that they can use virtually to help their coaching clients explore their strengths and work out how to apply them in their everyday working lives.
While face-to-face coaching and development has certainly taken a hit, it was refreshing and energising to see so many enthusiastic faces tuning in to keep their coaching saw sharpened, and participants were able to see that their coaching relationships can continue virtually just as easily as they can be conducted in person.
One participant said they valued the “energy that could still be felt even though it was remote, plus learning about some excellent practical tools”. Likewise another thought the CPD provided “as always, great practical tips and tools” and stated “above all your natural style and delivery came across even though the session was delivered virtually”.
Keep an eye out for further development for coaches and mentors over the coming weeks and months. If you are interested in Azure delivering development for you or your organisation virtually (for example via Zoom or Teams), then Azure are absolutely #openforbusiness, so please get in touch here!
