How Can We Help Our Leaders to be More Emotionally Intelligent?
The Client: Our client is a housing organisation keen to be at the forefront of best practice in leadership and management.
Situation: Our client already has a progressive approach to leadership and management. To build on this, they wanted to assess the competence of their 40 strong management team and find ways to improve their levels of self awareness as a launch point for future development.
Azure recommended using the highly respected Hay Group Emotional Competence Inventory (ECI) to assess the Emotional Intelligence of the group which in turn would also help to develop a common leadership language. The renowned 360° feedback tool provided an excellent basis for Azure coaches to facilitate honest discussions with individual participants and to develop really practical personal development plans towards which the individuals concerned felt highly committed.
Results: Having been initially assessed against a target group of high performers in the Hay Database, participants took part in a range of personal development activities to address their development needs. Less than 2 years later, a repeat 360º assessment revealed levels of emotional intelligence up to 25% higher on average, than the first occasion.
